Every piece in this collection was handcrafted in Ghana; original paintings, handwoven textiles, and traditional carved and beaded goods made by local artisans. When you purchase one of these one-of-a-kind items, 100% of the proceeds go directly toward the Yonkofa Project’s purpose of building and equipping rural health clinics in Ghana, including the new nurses’ residential quarters currently under construction in Elubo-Nungua.

Taureg Bowl
Handcrafted by the nomadic Tuareg people of the Saharan region, this wooden bowl features authentic metal patchwork repair on its bottom, a mark of tradition since large wood pieces are rare in the desert and cracked bowls are mended and passed down through generations.

Wooden Taureg Bowl
Hand carved by the nomadic Tuareg people of the Saharan region, this lightweight wooden bowl was made to be easily packed for their traveling journeys. Rounded on the bottom to prevent spilling, it carries the authentic wear and imperfections of a well-used, generations-old utilitarian art object.

Handwoven Batakari Smock
First the fabric is woven on a loom in 4 inch strips, then the strips are sewn together into cloth, and then the garment is made from the cloth. It is a labor of love. These garments are worn by both men and women.
